Cookies and storage

In short

No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts, on the website or in the app. The app stores only what it needs to work on your device. Usage statistics are optional, and nothing is sent before you say yes.

The website simucoach.fi

The website sets no cookies. It remembers two choices in your browser's local storage: the light or dark theme (sc-theme) and that you closed the language suggestion (sc-lang-dismissed). They never leave your device.

The app app.simucoach.fi

Strictly necessary storage, which needs no consent under the Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services (section 205), because the app cannot provide the service you asked for without it:

  • Sign-in: simucoach.token keeps you signed in (7 days) and simucoach.user keeps your account details for offline use. Both are removed when you log out.
  • Google sign-in: the cookie simucoach_google, only while you sign in with Google, for at most 10 minutes, to protect the sign-in against forgery.
  • Your settings: language, theme, sounds, transliteration and autoplay (simucoach.lang, simucoach.theme, simucoach.sound, simucoach.transliteration, simucoach.assistant.autoplay).
  • Where you are in the app: the finished tour, the daily recap, the chosen practice filter, game rules you have seen and an active Kids Mode (simucoach.tour.nav_v3, simucoach.home.seen, simucoach.recap.*, simucoach.practice.skill, simucoach.games.rules, simucoach.kids).
  • Offline use: copies of your phrasebook and notebook (simucoach.phrasebook, simucoach.notebook), and the app files and pictures cached by the app's service worker.

Optional usage statistics

With your permission, the app tells our own server which menus and buttons you use, never what you write or say, so we can make the app easier to use. Nothing is stored on your device for this and no third party is involved. The app asks you once; No thanks is as easy as Allow. You can change your choice any time in Me › What Pip remembers.

How to remove stored data

Logging out removes your sign-in and personal offline copies. You can remove everything the website or app has stored in your browser settings (site data). See also our Privacy policy.
