Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Simulingo ("we"), the provider of SimuCoach. By creating an account you accept them. Please also read our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.

2. The service

SimuCoach is an AI-assisted service for learning Finnish: lessons, exercises, role-plays of real situations, a personal assistant and practice in the style of the YKI test. The service is currently free of charge and in development, so features may change. If we introduce paid plans, we will show the price and terms clearly before you buy, and your rights as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal, apply.

3. Who can use SimuCoach

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian. Children under 13 may use SimuCoach only through Kids Mode in a parent's account, and the parent is responsible for that use.

4. Your account

  • Give a correct email address and keep your password secret. An account is for one person.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
  • You can delete your account at any time in the app.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use SimuCoach to:

  • break the law or anyone's rights;
  • harass or threaten others, or create sexual, violent or hateful content;
  • share other people's personal data without permission;
  • try to break, overload or get around the service's security or limits, copy its content in bulk (scraping) or access it with automated tools;
  • reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

The AI declines some requests, and we may limit how much the service can be used per day to keep it fair for everyone.

6. AI and its limits

  • SimuCoach uses artificial intelligence. Its answers, corrections, explanations and level estimates can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything important.
  • SimuCoach is a language-learning tool. It does not give medical, legal, immigration, financial or other professional advice, and it does not replace the authorities. In an emergency, call 112.
  • The voices are AI-generated, not recordings of real people.
  • Level estimates and YKI practice grades are estimates, not official results. The YKI test (Yleiset kielitutkinnot) is organised by the Finnish National Agency for Education and the University of Jyväskylä; SimuCoach is independent and not affiliated with them.

7. Your content

What you write and say remains yours. You give us the right to process it in order to provide the service to you, as described in the privacy policy. We do not publish your content. Do not submit content you have no right to share.

8. Our content and rights

The app, its texts, exercises, scenarios, illustrations, the coach Pip and the SimuCoach name and logo belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, sell or redistribute them without our permission. Some materials are used under open licences; see Licences and credits. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep SimuCoach available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it is always available or free of errors. We may change, pause or end features. If we end the whole service, we will tell you in advance where possible and give you time to export your data.

10. Liability

We provide SimuCoach with reasonable care, but as a free learning tool it is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profits or decisions made on the basis of AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

11. Suspension and ending

You can stop using SimuCoach and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, normally after a warning. When an account is deleted, its data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the service changes. We tell you about changes in the app, and you are asked to accept the new version before you continue. If you do not accept, you can export your data and delete your account.

13. Law and disputes

Finnish law applies. Please contact us first: most issues are solved quickly. As a consumer you can also contact the Finnish Consumer Advisory Services (kkv.fi) and take a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi), or to the district court of your home municipality.
